Our season starts with a journey to Italy at the start of the seventeenth century, in the midst of a musical revolution where a new, “modern” style of composition quickly emerges, with unbridled expressivity, surprise and contrast as its core tenets.

Our second concert explores the intimate and virtuosic Italian music popular at the court of Holy Roman Emperors Ferdinand II, Ferdinand III and Leopold I, notably that of imperial Kapellmeister Giovanni Valentini, Antonio Bertali and Giovanni Felice Sances.
